2010 Rules and Regulations

These Rules supersede all prior publications.

1. Tournament participants must have a valid Florida Saltwater Fishing license affixed with the proper stamps where required. All participants must also follow all Local, State, and Federal laws. Any violations of such laws may result in disqualification from the event. This includes slow or idle zones and manatee areas.

2. Anglers may fish anywhere on tournament waters accessible by boat, except areas designated as off limits or no fishing by Local, State, Federal, or Tournament officials, and within 50 yards of a competitors boat actively engaged in fishing. The definition of “actively engaged in fishing” is a boat with the trolling motor in operation with anglers fishing, a boat held in place by anchor, push pole, or Power Pole. There will be no fishing within 200 yards of the weigh in-site.

 

3. No angler at anytime may alter any fish by length or weight with the intention of gaining advantage over another competing team. In addition, no angler may hand or force feed any tournament fish.

 

4. Tournament entry fee is $300 for a maximum of 3 people per boat. (Children under 16 not included in team count)

5. Any participant under the age of 18 not fishing with an adult over the age of 18 shall produce a permission slip from their guardian or parent. Permission slip available on website.

6. Aggregate 1 day total of 2 trout and 1 Live Redfish per boat. Line class is open.

7. Redfish shall be measured with a pinched tail at 27 inches, not touching the line. All State and federal rules apply. Redfish must remain ALIVE. NO redfish will be weighed dead. A dead redfish is a disqualified fish. Trout shall be measured with a pinched tail at least 15 inches in length. ONE trout per person may be over the maximum size limit of 20 inches. 

8. Calcutta entry is $50. Terms of the Calcutta will be announced at the Captain’s meeting. Kids Division open to any child participating on a tournament boat 16 years of age or younger. Target species TBA at captain’s meeting. 

9. Professional start from Red Marker #6 at safe light. Safe light will be determined by tournament staff. Anglers shall put themselves in the approximate order according to boat number. Teams will be released in order of their registration time at approximately 5-15 second intervals. All boats must IDLE by the committee boat when their number is called. Tournament staff are not responsible for you or your team not making check-out.

10. Weigh-in opens at 11AM the day of the tournament. No fish will be weighed prior to 11AM. You MUST pass the committee boat at or before 4PM on Saturday for your weight to count.

11. No assistance from anyone during the tournament, unless in the event of an emergency.

12. Entry-fees are non-refundable, and non-transferable.

13. Protests are allowed up to 30 minutes after the last boat weighs in. All protests must be in writing and accompanied by $300 fee. If protest is upheld, the fee will be returned. If denied, tournament will retain the protest fee. A polygraph test will be given to determine protest outcome. Weigh master reserves the right to retain any fish for further inspection.

14. All money winning teams may be given a polygraph test. Member chosen is at rule committee’s discretion. One fail and/or non-conclusive results will result in another team member tested. Two fails and/or non-conclusive results will result in a forfeiture of money, awards and immediate disqualification.

15. Judges rule is final.
